I can't believe Nate is three months old! He is getting bigger and bigger and doing so many new things. His latest skills include rolling from his stomach to his back, activating the music on his bouncy seat by hitting the toy whale, blowing raspberries when he sees me doing it, holding toys and sometimes bringing them to his mouth, grabbing and holding toys (sometimes with both hands together), knocking things over by batting at them, and batting at his reflection. He also likes to grab his toes, reach for things I am holding (he is a big fan of trying to touch my food), and touch pictures in simple books. He actually "turns" the pages of board books and his bath book. His laugh sounds more grown up and he grumbles when he is unhappy instead of just crying. He knows where his food comes from and has tried to pull down my shirt with his mouth open and searching.
For Nate's three month birthday I made a real dinner (not a short cut meal or half prepared Trader Joe's entree) and we had cupcakes. Our good friend Jeff came over and helped us celebrate.
At three months Nate's favorites include reading stories, bouncing on an exercise ball, being sung to (Old MacDonald still seems to be his favorite), playing on his floor mat, taking baths, eating, and batting at toys and other miscellaneous items (water bottles, vitamin bottles, his reflection, etc.). His dislikes include riding in the car, tummy time, taking his medicine, and going to the grocery store. He now tolerates his swing and bouncy seat for about 15 minutes at a time but has lost interest in riding in the front carrier.
Nate is a big eater which is good since he loses so much of his food from his reflux. He continues to weigh in around the 25th percentile and the last time they measured him they said he was 87th percentile (this is quite a bit more imprecise than weight). He holds his head up well and can sit in his Bumbo seat for short periods without slumping to one side.
I am so blessed to have such a beautiful and precious little boy. I am treasuring every minute with him.
